Welcome to LearnRugbyLaws.com! I hope you find the site useful and interesting and will return frequently to refresh your Laws knowledge.

Recent Updates

As we head into November I’ve been pulling together a few ideas and actually committing them to the World Wide Web! You will notice that the menu has changed slightly. ‘Become a Ref’ is now no longer under construction! For anyone thinking of taking up the whistle it’s a good place to start – if there’s anything you think is missing from that page that would be useful let me know and I’ll try to rectify it. I’ve also put together a page of checklists, particularly useful if your fairly new to refereeing and want to see what sort of pattern to settle into – again comments are more than welcome. 'Laws Comment' is the most recent addition, it is a page to mull over the Laws, their application and meanings.

Coming Soon

Soon I hope to expand on the new pages. I’m also hoping to start up a section for Q&As on the Laws – if you have a question of your own in advance of that, please do e-mail me. I’ll also be adding some interesting referee related articles.

Introduction

Thank you very much to Boyd Barker who got this web-site up and running. It was a fantastic idea and I was very pleased to have been able to take over the running of the site in 2005.

I am Simon Griffiths, and I've now got the honour of keeping this site in working order. If you have any comments please feel free to head over to the LRL forum. If you have any questions or problems you can send an e-mail to ref@sgriffiths.info and I'll try to sort it out. (LRL only please - I'm not an agony aunt!). I referee in Gloucester (England), so I like to think that I'm involved at the sharp end of world rugby!

I hope that I’ve started to improve on what was a very good concept, and hope also to continue the diversification of the site. In addition to the quiz, which will always remain the site's ‘jewel in the crown’, a 'shop' has been set-up with a small selection of law and referee related items, as well as a small LRL range. We've also moved the forums, and they are now part of our sister site, RugbyRefs.com.

Thank you also to Robert Burns, the administrator/owner of the Rugby Refs Forum (RRF), who is hosting this web-site alongside RRF and is also involved in the new set-up. Finally, a quick thank you to Alan Weston for sorting out the slightly dodgy code for the quiz which enabled us to bring the quiz back to you!
